Root7 was started in the year 2000 as a joint venture in the world of high ticket integrated internet solutions. A positive start was followed by a ignominious end and by 2002 all the original partners except Robert Laughton had left the business.

After some positive support from a friend Manoj Shah, and a year spent working in Moscow and researching the technology market over there, Robert Laughton returned to the UK and started The Water Delivery Company in 2003 (at that time known as Aquome). The Water Delivery Company is know the largest turnover unit within a group of companies that are managed by the holding company Root7 LLP.

Root7 specialises in developing companies focused on automated sales channels.
