You can now explore the lavishly furnished State Rooms which contain some of the greatest treasures from the Royal Collection. Ah yes! From paintings, sculptures, examples of Sèvres porcelain to the finest English and French furniture in the world. Get a glimpse into the world of the Royals and cry a little that you were not born one. It’s okay… *wipes away stray tear*

In true Root7 style we thought we would commemorate this occasion by giving you 7 ways to drink like a royal. Well, basically drink what the Royals drink.

It’s time to make a toast to the Royal Family!

The Queen

The longest-reigning monarch is said to be a creature of habit. Every day she rigorously follows her drinking guide every day. Before lunch she likes a glass of gin mixed with fortified wine, with a slice of lemon – pips removed we will have you know. At lunchtime she indulges in wine and spends the evening sipping on champagne. Its rather amusing that Her Majesty consumes six units a day which makes her a binge drinker by government standards.

Its apparent from this, that we all need to be more like the Queen.

Prince Philip

A simple man indeed. The Duke of Edinburgh’s preferred drink is beer.

The Prince Of Wales

Scotchy, scotch, scotch.

The Duchess of Cornwell

The Duchess takes after our own heart. It is rumoured that her favourite tipple is a G&T.

The Duke Of Cambridge

An opulent amount of spirits including brandy and peach liqueur. Ah he also like to top this off with a bottle of Champagne.

In the prince’s younger days he went for Stella Artious and Sambuca shots – we all remember those student days. Thinking of it already triggers a terrible hangover.

The Duchess of Cambridge

Kate likes to enjoy a splash of Jack Daniels, apparently.

Prince Harry

Everything!

Time to time, the party boy has also been partaking Red Bull and vodka.
